Kate's Next Engagement & Vote for Kate's Best Tour Hat & Hairstyle

Hello to you all! We begin today's post with confirmation on Kate's next engagement.

On Thursday, 29 May, The Duke and Duchess of Cambridge - known as The Earl and Countess of Strathearn in Scotland - will visit Perth and Kinross. The day begins with a visit to Strathearn Community Campus where the royals will meet local groups including young carers, Scouts, Cadets and Brownies as well as representatives of Scottish Air Ambulance.

Crieff High

Their Royal Highnesses will also visit the newly restored MacRosty park in Crieff and unveil a plaque to mark the dedication of the park as a Field in Trust. Prince William is president of the Fields in Trust organisation which works to secure and improve outdoor spaces for sport and play for future generations to enjoy.

Next, William and Kate will visit The Famous Grouse Distillery where they will tour the facility before meeting locals at a reception. Finally, the couple will visit a fete and view stands displaying local wares and produce.

Scottish Whisky Store

Perhaps the Duke and Duchess will sample a tipple of the hugely popular whisky? I can safely say I'm not a whisky drinker but I was introduced to this brand by my fiancé's family and it's actually quite nice. Especially good to have a bottle on hand for colds and flu (to be used in a sparing fashion!). It's an important local business and employer and it's excellent to see the royals to be supporting such places.

The Famous Grouse

I think this day of engagements is a wonderful way to begin a busy summer of appearances for the Cambridges. It's quite possible the Duchess will select a tartan piece for the day. Below we see her sartorial choices form her visit to Scotland last year. We can safely assume we'll see Kate sporting her Strathearn print scarf from ScotWeb.

Scotland is a beautiful place with so much to offer. I'm very much looking forward to this one!

Continuing on with our polls, we look at hats worn by The Duchess during the tour. We begin with the pillbox Gina Foster hat Kate wore upon arrival in New Zealand. The £450 Seaford Hat is described as a "Jackie O pillbox with felt flower trim".

The Duchess teamed her teal Emilia Wickstead dress with a Jane Taylor hat. It's a striking piece with fern detail.

Kate selected a grey hat by Jane Taylor for an Easter Sunday service.

For the royals' last day in Australia, Kate chose a local milliner - Jonathan Howard. Mr. Howard revealed there had been months of correspondence before the Duchess selected the dark navy blue Boutton Hat.

I voted for the red Gina Foster hat. There was something very classic and reminiscent of Jackie O about the entire look. That hat is a beautiful piece, one of Ms. Foster's finest creations.

Our second poll today has been highly requested by readers and covers Kate's hairstyles throughout the tour. For your convenience we've narrowed it down to six options.

1. Classic Kate

Our first option is Her Royal Highness's signature look. Kate has always favoured wearing her tresses down over her shoulders in loose curls or waves.

2. Straight and Sleek

We also saw Kate's hair looking straighter and sleeker during the tour, especially in Uluru.

Overall, wearing her hair down worked very well throughout the tour, apart from one occasion when little George was eager to play with his mother's locks :)

3. The Ponytail

Kate looks youthful and fresh when she wears her hair in a ponytail, and it looked particularly stylish with the cornflower blue Alexander McQueen coat.

4. The Demi-Chignon

Since the royal wedding, a demi-chignon has been my favourite style on the Duchess. It looks very sophisticated and showcases the face whilst still showing off the length. Kate chose this look several times during the tour.

5. The Chignon

Kate wore her hair in a chignon at a reception in Australia just before the tour ended. It looked splendid and very appropriate for an evening function.

6. The Intricate Do

Hairdresser Amanda Cook Tucker outdid herself for the Easter Sunday Service when she styled Kate's hair into this intricate look.

As I mentioned earlier my favourite is the demi-chignon. What did you choose?

We'll be holding our last 'End of Tour' polls in our next post. What would you like to see included? Jewellery? Shoes? Bags? A poll featuring Prince George? Let us know in the comments!
