On Monday The Duke and Duchess of Cambridge and Prince Harry will be in Mons, Belgium representing The Queen at events commemorating WWI including a service and a reception. The following day, Tuesday, commemoration continues back home at the Tower of London's poppy installation in the Moat. The final work will consist of 888,246 red ceramic flowers - each representing a British or Colonial military fatality - that flow through the grounds around the tower. It's really quite an incredible undertaking with breathtaking results.

I've received quite a few emails and messages inquiring about William and Kate's schedule this month aside from the events mentioned above and thought I would touch on the subject in tonight's post. It appears August will be another quiet month for the Cambridges with many speculating the couple will take much of the month off. Back in April, following the royal tour, a Palace aide confirmed "there would be a significant upsurge in engagements" during the summer months.
We share a segment from Richard Palmer's article for the Express at the time:
'So successful has the tour been that the Duke and Duchess plan a 'significant upsurge' in royal duties over the next few months. After a break to recharge their batteries, they will begin a much busier than usual programme of events over June, July and August, a senior royal aide said.'
June certainly proved to a busier month than usual with annual events such as Trooping The Colour, Order of the Garter, The Queen's garden party, a commemoration ceremony at Gold Beach Normandy and a couple of solo engagements.
July proved significantly less busy with just four official public appearances - the Commonwealth Games, a visit to Blessed Sacrament School and The Tour de France send-off in Yorkshire. However, the couple did carry out private visits and receptions during this time.
As we're in early August I asked former royal editor Martin what this month will bring for William and Kate.

It is believed the couple plan to take a holiday at Balmoral with Prince George. The month is traditionally one of the least active for the royal family; they enjoy time in Scotland and it provides a secluded place for the Cambridges to spend time with William's family. Aside from this it is thought much of the coming weeks will be spent in their new country home, Anmer Hall in Norfolk, where they are expected to spend much of their time when William takes up a full-time job as an Air Ambulance pilot with the East Anglian Air Ambulance.

More from Hello! Magazine:
Kate's engagements tend to be bundled together and often times two or three are planned within a week. As for the statement claiming there would be "a significant upsurge" one can only imagine it was a result of continuing issues arising from the royals' (thus far very unsuccessful) press office merge. Various reliable reporters were led to believe once Kate finished maternity leave things would be considerably busier, however, it does seem we'll see a pattern consistent with her schedule since the royal wedding, especially with William's new job. August is likely to have very little in terms of engagements but September may be the opposite with Kate's first solo visit to Malta and appearances at home.
'The Duke and Duchess of Cambridge will reportedly take a month-long holiday in the UK this month. The royal pair and their one-year-old son have picked Prince William's father's home in the highlands for their annual break.'

We'll know for certain later this month if these rumours are true. Overall I don't think there's going to be a major schedule change for Kate in the near future. I hope this clarifies things somewhat for those enquiring :)

Whilst Kate's calendar involves very few engagements which call for a show stopping evening gown, inevitably this will change, as she and William represent the Royal Family at at glamorous occasions, home and abroad. Mr. Oakwell would be an excellent choice, particularly for creating bespoke and unforgettable pieces whilst maintaining the conservative elegance we know Kate favours.

There's plenty of possibilities for outwear too, with the Ozio Coat, the classic Angelo Coat and the stylish Eliana Coat. They're quite simplistic, and we know Kate has a beautiful collection of coats, so it shall be interesting to see how she adds to it this year.
